Site problems The Project Officer Handbook (POH) is designed to give the Project Officer (PO) a broad overview of the acquisition process and, in particular, an appreciation of what they will be doing as a PO at the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC). The intent of the POH (based on DoD 5000.2) is to help new arrivals at SMC who have not been able to attend courses offered by the Defence Acquisition University (DAU) and/or those not familiar with the Systems Engineering acquisition process. The POH is not a replacement for DAU courses. Further information can be found either in DoD 5000.2 or the Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG).
